National Dadgum That’s Good Day is celebrated annually on March 1st and is dedicated to enjoying delicious food and spending time with loved ones. The phrase "Dadgum, That’s Good!" is a Southern American slang expression used to express admiration for the taste of a dish and is also the title of a cookbook series by John McLemore. In 2015, John McLemore and his father Dawson, founders of the Masterbuilt company in Columbus, Georgia, established this holiday to emphasize the importance of family meals and creating cherished memories.

History of the Celebration
The Masterbuilt company was founded in 1973 by Dawson McLemore and his family. Initially, they produced plant stands but later shifted their focus to kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, smokers, and grills. Their passion for cooking and bringing people together at the table led to the creation of National Dadgum That’s Good Day in 2015.

By celebrating this day, we highlight the importance of home-cooked meals and family traditions, creating warm memories and enjoying meaningful moments with our loved ones.
